Movie Preferences And Survey

Tell us about your favorite movie and why you like it.

My favorite movie is LOL because Miley Cyrus is in it (before she went all crazy) and it is in Chicago. It is about being a teenager in high school and that is something I have obviously always wanted. I have always wanted to visit there and I just did and it was amazing, I am going to go back for New Years.

Tell us about the kinds of movies you don't care for usually.

Movies with things like Spiderman or Ironman or anything of that sort. Like really? It is so fake and most of the time I fall asleep.

Tell us about how often and where you usually watch movies.

Since last month I have Netflix and that might have just been one big mistake that I made getting that. I have watched so many movies. Normally I just watch tv series and watch a movie only when I really want to see it but now it is just so easy to put something on...

Tell us about what you need for movie viewing (environment, food, company, etc.)

I don't really need anything to watch a movie. When I go to the theater I prefer to have something to drink, just like I do when I am at home watching something on my laptop but in that case I also like to be warm and wrapped up in blankets with a pillow.

Tell us about what this survey says about you.

Dan In Real Life Questions

Marie wants books that “pull her in.” Which would you suggest for her?

50 Shades of Grey, this might be frowned upon here but everyone that says these books do not pull you in, is lying.

Dan’s family is very involved in his relationship. How involved do you think family should be in you relationships?

I think my parents should not be involved in my relationships at all, I tried that once and they ended up liking the guy more than I did… Yeah…

Dan and Marie aren’t supposed to fall in love. Is illicit love more appealing to us?

Probably, you always want what you can’t have.

Dan is widowed and then falls for Marie. Do you think there is only one true soul mate or lots of options?

I think that if you have kids together and one of you dies then the other one should find happiness in being with someone else but that person can never ever be as good as your spouse and the parent of your children.

Have you ever been grilled by someone’s family the way Dan's questions Marie?

Yes, I always get a bunch of questions when people find out I am foreign. Of course, that is not the same kind of questions as in the movie but it is like being interrogated. Some people ask questions right after they find out, some start asking questions four months later.

This is... Photo Poem

This is
Me and my favorite horse in the entire world
There's the rest of the hallway
and more stables next to hers
My hair is straight instead of the usual and natural curls
She will always be my favorite, with me trusting her more than anything else
This is

Is when it was summer, and when just a shirt was enough
Maestro is in the stable next to Grande Dame, neighing and looking at us
This is

Me having the time of my life
With the love of my life
Although she is not here anymore
She always will be on my mind
Forever in my heart

Childhood Prompts

21. Describe your personality as a child. In what ways has it changed as you’ve gotten older? In what ways has it stayed the same?

As a kid I was probably the most honest child people had ever met. I would go up to people and just tell them my opinion, wanted or unwanted, and if someone wanted to know something I was sure to tell them the truth. Once, my mom and I were shopping in a village called Voorburg and we saw a couple who just got married coming out of the church. I, being the young girl that I was, thought it was so fairytale like and her dress was gorgeous. So what did I do? I just went up there and told the bride that her dress was beautiful. I have always been really upfront about my opinion and I still am. I am not afraid to say what I think and even though some people might not appreciate that, I don’t care. People tell me I am harsh and yes I am but at least people get my honest opinion and with everyone else just telling them what they want to hear nowadays.

23. Describe your most interesting relative.

My most interesting relative is also the youngest. It is my little sister (now nine!) and she is probably the smartest out of everyone. Compared to everyone else, obviously doesn’t have as much knowledge but goodness that kid is smart. She definitely will be the smartest out of everyone considering what she already knows.

27. Describe one of your first away-from-home experiences.

My first holiday was when I was three months old to Cannobio just across the border in Italy. I was brought up going on holiday a lot and I was really lucky to be able to travel so much. This has taught me to be away from home and it just feels natural to not be in the same place for a long time. I have been in Springfield now for four months and I am slightly freaking out because I am not used to being in one place for so long! In the time that I have been here, my parents and siblings have been to London three times already!

31. At what age did you learn to ride a bicycle?

I probably learned how to ride my bike without the training wheels at the age of three or four. Riding your bike is big in The Netherlands because we use it for everything and sometimes it is faster than it is going by car. We learn it at a young age because then we can go places with our parents and we can play outside and race each other. We are not allowed to drive until we’re eighteen and we don’t really need to drive any time before that. We use our bikes on a daily basis. Actually there are more bikes than people in the country and besides that we have a lot of public transport.

35. What frightening dream do you remember from your childhood?

When I was younger, around the ages eight to ten, I used to dream that I had to go to my parents funeral. One of them would die and I would wake up crying. I always got out of bed to go downstairs where both of my parents were together healthy and very much alive. I would always sit on the lap of the parent that had ‘died’ in my dream and they would just let me cry until I was done. To me it seemed like it happened all the time.
